The Swedish Wind Centre is organizing a webinar about wind energy, sea-ice, forecasts and climate change. Speakers are:

 

Erik Kjellström, Professor in climatology, SMHI

 

Maria Tikanmäki, Research Team Leader, Arctic Renewable Energy, VTT. She will give an overview about:

 

  • estimation of design sea-ice conditions for the site
  • estimation of sea-ice loads on offshore wind turbine foundations
  • ongoing research projects

 

Meto Shapkalijevski, researcher at SMHI. He will summarise on:

 

  • how SMHI treats the sea-ice interaction processes
  • state some challenges
  • present future perspectives and plans
